The PMI Northern Utah Chapter is a volunteer, nonprofit organization. Volunteers are the cornerstone and foundation of our chapter. The quality of the benefits and services we provide have a direct correlation to the participation of our membership. The chapter is about us working together to help each other grow professionally and personally. We encourage all members to volunteer. Outstanding organizations are built when a critical mass of members contribute their valuable time and efforts.

For those willing to take on a volunteer role there are many benefits:
- Personal development of leadership and other soft skills in a non-threatening environment
- Peer recognition through interaction and publicity of chapter activities
- Development of a peer network within the volunteer group and chapter
- Satisfaction of contributing to the success of the chapter and celebrating it at special volunteer events
- Participation in special leadership meetings with chapter officers
- Making a difference by helping others learn, develop and grow both professionally and personally
- Earn Professional Development Units (PDUs) toward certification renewal
We're always in need of additional volunteers for as little or as much as you want to contribute.
Roles of Chapter Volunteers The chapter has two main categories of volunteers; Officers and non-officers. The chapter is a Utah nonprofit corporation with a board of 12 elected and appointed officers. In addition to providing chapter leadership, they have legal responsibilities for the chapter's wellbeing. Our non-officer volunteers are appointed by members of the Board of Directors to work on specific operational needs, either a one-time task or a specified term.
PDUs Through Volunteer Activities In order to renew their certification, PMP® certified individuals are required to submit 60 Professional Development Units (PDUs) every three years. PMI allows the chapter to issue PDUs toward certification renewal. The chapter does this through a year-end review of the service provided by all PMI-certified volunteers. Based on results, certificates are issued to each volunteer. Members then claim these credits through the normal PMI PDU process.
REV! - The Volunteer Organization within PMI-NUC REV! stands for 'R EXCELLENT VOLUNTEERS! The name connotes movement and motion. We accomplish results by working with other individuals. One way to establish and develop a relationship with an individual is to work with them on a team. To build a cohesive unit, chapter officers bring their REV! Teams together multiple times a year. Volunteers who are interested or show potential as future chapter leaders are invited to leadership meetings to observe and discuss current and future chapter operations.
